THE MEWSRoom
Café and Adoption Center Opening Soon
After years of dreaming and months of planning, The Cats' Cradle is nearing the opening of its first Adoption Center and Cafe Café at The Mews Herald in downtown Morganton. The process has been a long one, but soon we will have our license from the state and will officially open our doors to the public. We hope to see all of our cat lovers come out for a coffee, a treat and some conversation in our relaxing lounge where you can watch our cats in their play area. Stay tuned for hours of operation and our menu, which will be announced soon.

Gratitude expressed for ongoing support
🎄💜 Season of Gratitude from The Cats’ Cradle 💜🎄
As 2025 draws to a close and the Christmas season fills our hearts, we want to pause and say thank you—from the very bottom of our paws. 🐾
To our donors, your generosity keeps food in bowls and hope alive for every cat who comes into our care. To our supporters, your shares, kind words, and encouragement remind us that this rescue is truly a community effort. And to our incredible volunteers, your time, compassion, and dedication are the heartbeat of The Cats’ Cradle—we simply could not do this work without you. With love and gratitude, The Cats’ Cradle 💜

Visit The Press Box
The Press Box is the Cat Café and internet lounge located in the reception area of The News Herald. From The Press Box you can purchase beverages and tasty treats from our small café selection while you watch the action on the field in our cat and kitten playrooms live or on one of our big screen TVs. Either way, you’re sure to catch all the big plays in a relaxing environment and hopefully, find the next member of your team!

The Mews Herald receives state license
The Cats’ Cradle is thrilled to share an exciting milestone — we have officially received our license from the NC Department of Agriculture for our new adoption center and cat café, The Mews Herald!
Located in the former News Herald building in downtown Morganton, this new space will soon open its doors to the public and allow us to expand our mission of finding loving homes for homeless cats — while creating a welcoming place for the community to connect, relax, and fall in love with their future feline family. Stay tuned for our opening date.
